It seems like just yesterday Alan and I were lugging our suitcase on the train to go to the hospital for our 6th attempt at induction! We just got home from the doctor and Eloise weighs 15.5 lbs and is 24.5 inches long. Her thighs look like she has rubber-bands set up for a tie-dye job and a new folds seem to be appearibg daily. She has tons of hair and hasn't lost much except for the bald spot in the back where she rubs her head back and forth in her crib as she falls asleep. Her hair seems to be very curly when it's wet, but then it goes straight in the dry radiator heat. It's hard to tell how it will turn out later, maybe like Aunties Kay and Claire. Her eyes are now turning dark, mostly brown with a little grayish blue. She is very active and loves to stand or sit (with assistance) whenever she can, not much for cuddling. She's figuring out her jumping thing and exer-saucer and still giggles like crazy if you lay her on the floor while she flails both arms and legs to fun dance music. She's starting to become aware of Logan and watches as the dog walks by and still tries to suck the dog's nose if she comes too close. Logan seems to be embracing Eloise more and sniffs her regularly and runs (I mean slowly strolls over) to greet both of us whenever we walk in the door. Eloise is starting to roll from belly to back, but more often when placed on her stomach she pushes off with her feet and sends her hiney into the air..the beginnings of an army crawl. She absolutely adores bathtime and has quickly figured out how to soak mom and dad with all her splashing around. We haven't really started feeding her any babyfood yet, but eloise often dives head first with mouth wide open towards our food if we're holding her while eating something. She also does that same move towards your mouth if you ask for a kiss. Everyday, daddy takes her to visit the "little girl" who lives in our mirror and eloise smiles, laughs, talks to and kisses her. She hasn't met a stranger but is just starting to get overwhelmed with too many people at once. She doesn't mind napping next to the drums during church but cries at the sound of the coffee grinder in the mornings. She's a very good sport about all the stroller time on the buses, metros, trains etc. while we move around town and loves to just look around and flirt with the other passengers.

Daddy and I just adore you, sweet baby girl and continue to be amazed everyday that God entrusted you to us!

Well, we're off in two days for a visit to America. Eloise is so very excited to meet many of you and sad that we're missing all her aunts and uncles on her dad's side. Please pray for our trip and time on the airplane and for Alan as he finishes up finals/papers next week before he joins us on the 24th.

eloise's new entertainment

Thanks to Amy and Sean, Eloise has a jumping seat! She is so ready to be more active than her body allows so she loves sitting in this seat and having a different view of life (or the bathroom-since that's the only doorway where it hangs). She's just starting to figure out the bouncing action and spends most of her time twisting around for now.

Rolly Polly

Eloise rolled over unassisted yesterday and is starting the very beginning of an army crawl when she's on her stomach. I also discovered that she's getting pushy about her food. When I eat an apple, I hold it up to Eloise's mouth and she latches on and sucks the juice out. She has decided that she really really likes it and yesterday she never took her eyes off the apple anytime it was my turn to take a bite. If I wasn't quick enough to give her a turn she would start whining and use her hand to pull my hand with the apple to her mouth. I cannot believe that she's already this big!!!
