this girl's got some energy

So far, here are Eloise's big moves (my apologies for the half dressed child, we were in the middle of a diaper change and just had to catch the moment)....
1. whipping her legs over and over (this is her favorite thing to do when she wakes up in her crib. It's usually the first noise we hear to know she's awake....wham wham wham.

2. rolling over


3. when she's on her belly...maybe attempting to crawl?, maybe having a fit?.

Eloise has started "solid" foods. So far she is mostly a fan of avocados, carrots and the manufactured rice cereal. I've made all of her baby food except the rice cereal because she HATES the rice that I've ground up and cooked for her. I have no clue what the difference is, but I haven't been able to change her mind. She's definitely getting the hang of eating and is getting more and more efficient. Her favorite part is at the end of the meal when she gets to drink water out of a cup. She sticks both arms straight our and bounces up and down in her seat, squealing. It's so fun to take a million pictures of this little one, she's so joyful and lights up anytime someone smiles at her.

Sarah and Analise in Paris

My good friend, Sarah, came up from Geneva to visit us for a few days before her husband joined her for the weekend. The girls had so much fun playing with each other.

"The wheels on the bus go round and round....round and round....round and round."

Enjoying some sunshine at a park and then just chillin' with Logan in our kitchen. I think this was their first time experiencing grass.

We had to make a trip to the doctor's office for vaccinations...not too shabby of a waiting room for the free clinic, eh?

After church we stopped for a picnic because the weather has been absolutely incredible this week! Sarah picked up the usual at the market, bread, wine, cheese, ham, apples and some kind of buttery/sugary goodness for dessert.
It was so great to have you guys back in town, we miss you!

I'd like rolls and a side of toes with that, please.

Girls Weekend

My friend, Tina, came all the way to Paris to thaw out this past week. She and her family live in NH where there are still mountains of snow. However, spring has sprung here....the days are warmer and brighter and the daffodils are starting to bloom! Alan was in Normandy for the church's men's retreat. So, Tina, Eloise and I had a fun weekend of visiting the bakery, antiquing, a museum, bakery, making crafts, bakery and plenty of just sitting around chatting. Oh, and we went to the bakery too (Tina is 5 months pregnant with her 2nd, as if multiple trips for delicious french pastries needs an explanation).

We were quite impressed with the adorable hairclips that we made.

Here are some pictures of the WW2 German Cemetery in Normandy. Alan said it had a much more somber feel to it compared to the American Cemetery that he visited last year.

This is a post just to brag about Alan. He took the Foreign Service Officer Test in Atlanta, Saturday morning just before going to the airport to head back to Paris. Well................. we found out today that

HE PASSED!!

Congrats, babe. We're proud of you!
